The abuser is the weakest link Whether it be physical brutality, sexual violation, verbal humiliation, emotional deflation, or intimidation by threat, the abuser has discarded the innate instinct to love, protect, and respect. The abused is used by the abuser to increase his/her self-serving desire to feel powerful and in control. The abuser will generally choose to wage war on the physically weaker. Intentional war waged on another individual to enhance ones feeling of power is ABUSE.
