Groove Theory was an American R&B and hip hop music duo formed in New York City in 1991 when singer Amel Larrieux met rapper Bryce Wilson through a mutual friend. The two found themselves perfect for each other as both were upset with the direction their career was taking. Wilson hoped to use the group as a chance to utilize his production talents while Larrieux wanted a chance to shine in R&B.

The group received a deal with Epic Records, and in 1995, they released their self-titled debut album Groove Theory. The album features the gold-selling hit single "Tell Me" which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

  • holy shit.

  • Miss the 90's! Hate the garbage today. No talent robot voiced artists all continually ripping off eachother with every song that comes on the radio. I'm 27 and wish I was at least 12 again to hear good music on the radio again.
