Conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini and performed by the New Philharmonia Orchestra. This is one of my favorite movements from Beethoven, illustrated by Scot Miller's photographs of Walden pond. This is gratefully dedicated to Beethoven and Thoreau, who wrote about nature as passionately as Beethoven depicted it in music.
