Wicker Highlights Sea Power in Senate Floor Address

WASHINGTON, DC -- Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) spoke today in support of continued funding for sea power. Wicker serves as the Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Seapower Subcommittee.

Excerpts from Senator Wicker's remarks:

". . .the Seapower Subcommittee also is well aware of the imminent and emerging threats facing our sea services. America must maintain its capability to project power and uphold our obligations to our friends and allies throughout the world -- Mr. President, this means robust investment in sea power."

"We must remember that national defense is a Federal responsibility. Failure to reach consensus would have grave consequences for our military."
