The bar was quiet. The dim light shown down on me, I was the only person in the entire place. The stools and chairs were all upside down on tables, or tucked neatly underneath the scratched wooden bar. I was just finishing up sweeping the dark, hard wood floors when I heard the door open. I looked up listlessly, preparing to tell whatever alcoholic, who couldnt read store hours, that we were closed. But when I focused on the door way, I didn't see what I was expecting. It wasn't the unkempt, stout man in a flannel shirt I was expecting; it wasn't even a clean-shaven man in a suit, but a petite girl.

She had milky-white skin, emphasized by the dark walls surrounding her. She was dressed simply, a pair of slightly worn-out jeans and a white T-shirt that hugged her slim form. She was.beautiful. I straightened my back, coming to my full height. I walked over to her.

"I'm sorry, but we're closed." I tried to speak in a gentle voice, to not scare her. Certainly a girl like her would be frightened of someone like me, a bartender, smelling of the whiskey and vodka I served all day. But, my words came out as more of a scruffy, loud whisper.

"I know, but I'm afraid I left me purse." She stated apologetically.

"I put one back behind the bar, I bet it's probably yours." I said, and we started talking, like we were two best friends who had too much to catch up on. We spoke about everything from our favorite food, to our families. Eventually she
looked up at the clock. "Oh dear! It's so late! I have to go."

I nodded. "Don't forget your purseagain." I said, smiling slightly at my own corny joke. She giggled, the sound of her laugh sending chills down my spine. I lead her to the other side of the room and pulled the small brown leather handbag into her view, her face instantly lit up.

"Thats it!" she exclaimed. "Thank you SO much!" she thanked me, as if I was a hero.

I smiled, looking into her deep brown eyes. "You're welcome." I looked down hesitantly, biting my lip nervously. I looked up then, as the beautiful melody of a slow, soothing song flooded through the bar stereos. "You'll only get this back on one condition." I stated firmly. She nodded, waiting for me to finish. "My I have this dance?" I asked, extending my hand to her. She smiled brightly, talking my quivering hand into her soft skin and gentle grip.

I led her to the middle of the bar as we started to dance around the small area. Her head resting in the crook of my neck, fitting perfectly, and my head lain gently on top of her soft, dark hair. We danced well into the next few songs, swaying and circling to the music. We didn't speak, but let our hearts beat as one, and our bodies move in perfect rhythm together.

~Two Years Later~

I paced the bar impatiently. It still had a few stragglers in it, but for the most part is was vacant. It was quiet, too, most of the rowdies haven left already. I heard the small bells ring, a sign that someone was entering or leaving, and looked up. It was who I was waiting for. She smiled at the sight of me and walked over to my side. The last of the customers we now leaving the building, and it was just me and her. Just like the night we first met.

I looked at her intently. She looked back at me, her head slightly tilted to the side. "What?" she asked.

I got to one knee slowly, reaching into my jacket pocket, as she raised her hands to her mouth. "Selena Marie Gomez, will you marry me?"

Tears started to flow down her cheeks gently from her already glistening eyes. She took my hand and raised me to my feet, and then looked at me seriously. I waited, dying inside, for her answer. "Nick, I'll only marry you on one condition." And at that, I smiled, kissing her gently and slipping the gleaming diamond ring onto her finger.

I, then, put one of my hands on her waist, and with the other took her small hand in mine, while her other hand rested on my shoulder. We moved with the music, making circles on the dark, wood floors. Her body close to mine as we stared into each others eyes—brown on brown, both shining like stars—while our hearts beat with the same fiery love and passion.

This was based on—well almost exactly copied—from Brad Paisley's song "We Danced" I was just listening to the song, and got inspired to write this. Not that creative, considering I tried to keep it as "factual" as I could.....yeah....

Here's he link to the song, incase someone hasn't heard it and wants to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEiEnREC6eQ
