As school ended for the day, the friends of Hayden Burnes gathered at the workshop where the 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death yesterday

Hayden, an apprentice mechanic at his father's motorbike repair shop at Minchinbury, in Sydney's west, had just arrived at work when he was attacked.

Moments before, a car had pulled up at the premises in Marieanne Place about 8.50am before speeding off after the attack.

The boy's father has links to the Lone Wolf Outlaw motorcycle gang. Rival bike gang The Rebels have premises in the same industrial site. But police say they have no motive for the killing.

"He's a 15-year-old boy who's currently employed as an apprentice mechanic, and goes to one of the local schools in the area. It is horrific to see a child like that being killed," Superintendent Wayne Cox said.
"There is no intelligence to suggest the attack is part of a war between two bikie gangs and I would suggest there is no stage for alarm at this time."

Friends who gathered at the crime scene described Hayden as "someone who made the room fun" and an "awesome guy".

"He was the nicest guy, I can't believe this would happen to him," one friend said.

Another added: "He always had a smile on his face.

"He was the happiest guy I knew."
The boy's distressed father arrived at the scene soon after the murder and was comforted by friends before talking to detectives.

Witnesses told how people went running all over the industrial estate to get help.

"One guy ran in screaming, 'There's blood everywhere' and 'Call an ambulance'," a witness from a nearby premises said.

"We saw a car drive up, drop this other guy off and do a U-turn."

The offender was wearing a baseball cap to hide his face, witnesses said.

Police are hoping CCTV footage from the industrial area will help with their investigation.

Local police were being assisted by the state crime command, including homicide and the gangs squad.

"There are a number of inquiries we're making in relation to the matter and there is no motive at this stage," Supt Cox said, adding the boy's family was "completely upset and dis
