One of three studio tracks from the 1987 compilation CD "React" by The Fixx. It features the rare use of a sax for the band and has a bit of a Springsteen vibe to it in places. This is one of 14 songs that the band landed on the mainstream rock top 50 chart during its heyday. "Don't Be Scared" peaked on that chart at #32 on 7-25-87.

I grew up with this song and it's still one of my favorite songs of all time. It has been applicable to so many different situations in my life, and has given me strength and encouragement every time.

I went to the thrift store today and was checking out the records there saw this album and it was in it's original package too I had already a bunch of them so I but that one back and thought I should check out what the music sounded like... I'm so fucking pissed because I really like it -_- need to go back and check if I can still find it.

I love this song! It's such a dark horse on React, but I'd kill to hear it live. Just the way they build up that final chorus is beautiful.

This song cheered me up as I entered college. The Fixx was my favorite and I found it at the store, hadn't heard about its release. Adam Woods wrote some fine lyrics too.

Been listening to The Fixx since '84 and this song has remained my #1 since the first time I heard it.
Well, ok. Secret Separation and No One Has to Cry are right there as well.....
