I think you've "hit the nail on the head".....they have always been one of my all time favorites and I have owned a few 40's vintage Chiefs.....just wish someone could do the "INDIAN" name justice and build a bike that was worthy of the Marque !....that particular 'art-deco' look is uncomparable and will always be an icon in the motorcycle world !
@95inchhog Polaris will just integrate some of their technology from their touring line into the Indians and help with the engineering. Honestly, these bikes are mostly intended for someone who just wants the nostalgia factor. They look on them is unmistakable, that's why Kawasaki's Vulcan Drifter sold so well a few years ago. An Indian has a look that no other motorcycle has.
I hope they stay in business love these bikes, but when I bought my new bike last year the Indian was to expensive paid 19K for a brand new Harley Road King, the indian would have cost another 10K at least and with that you take the risk of a smaller resale marker and the fact the company may be out of business again in 2-3 years. Indian should price these bikes in line with Harley
.....wonder how long before they go 'belly-up' this time !......Polaris can't save them, they're overpriced and, from what I hear, not very well built.....anyhow,to each his own, right ?
