Egyptian Maus are actually one of the very few cat breeds that is hypoallergenic!!! My friends dad and little sister are extremely allergic to cats and dogs but they have no problem with their male egyptian mau, the only problem is that their quite expensive....

Question; The cat right next to the Pets-101 logo right at the start of the video isn't a Mau considering its blue eyes and a tabby coat, it looks like a Siamese cross-breed tabby- anybody??

@PenguinHeadNoah I've heard that the Siberian is good for people with allergies, but I'm not sure about the Mau.

@PenguinHeadNoah I heard the best one to get for people is teh Maine coon. I could be wrong here but somewhere that is ringing a bell.

I have a question for anyone who has a Mau. My mom and I are allergic to cats. I am not sure whether it is from the protein in the cat saliva that most people are allergic to or if it is the dandruff and shedding. I heard Maus aren't that bad when it comes to shedding but I am wondering if Maus are worse or better when it comes to allergies with the saliva. I also heard the Rex and Sphinx breeds aren't so bad either.

I have a cat that is part Mau and part American Tabby. He has the eyes that look like he has mascara on, he has the dark band on his neck/chest, he has spotsand stipes that are onlky at the top as far as the color goes. And he is extremely loyal to me, his owner.
