From the shores of Kauai, to the Culinary Institute of America in New York, from Switzerland and Chicago to London and Honolulu, Mark Tsuchiyama has landed here at Kaupulehu, on the shores of Kahuwai Bay, as Executive Chef. First love for this Hawaii-born chef has always been his island home. The chance to captain the kitchens at Kona Village Resort provides opportunity to launch his personal style, which could be dubbed Kona Cuisine, highlighting island-fresh simplicity.

Chef Tsuchiyamas menus are flexible enough to take advantage of Waimea-grown tomatoes, an amazing variety of lettuces, and other locally grown foods and produce, along with freshly caught island fish and more so that what is brought to the table is made from the freshest ingredients possible. Tsuchiyamas unique style merges the cuisine of Hawaii with international foods, gleaning from his experiences around the world. Diners enjoy his keen ability to craft distinctive menu offerings that can be healthy and exciting along with unexpected flavors and textures.

Experience this talented chefs cuisine at Hale Samoa, Hale Moana and at Kona Village Resorts twice-weekly ahaaina (luau) dinner and show or at Tuesday evenings Paniolo Night BBQ.
