hi,
i am a sysadmin for a company and my employer thinks his network is safe as #$%^ becouse he buys expensive hardware firewalls,,,
so i want to learn to penntest to spot flaws in the money = security theory.
wich would you recommend for a newbie with some cain&able experience .. backtrack or blackbuntu.
i am drawn to BB becouse ubuntu was nice and easy on a newbster like me.

I think BT5 looks like crap. I still use BT4 for my day to day OS but that is going to change because of outdated repositories. I do like a lot of the tools but I am not really much into pentesting anymore. I am now shifting over to Debian because I don't want to install a "live distro" on my hard disk only to have frozen updates. Oh, and the red is real ugly. Reason I still use BT4 is because of how basic and "linux" it looks. Really love it. BT5 just looks overdone IMO.
