@Twilightfey Well, the Doctor is 'feared' by many through the things he's done. There's only one person who could love someone so terrible.. River. Hence, the Doctor is the beast and River; is Belle.

Also, just realised, is RIVER the one shown as the BEAST? I mean, yes, as the word "beast" is being said, we see the Doctor's face, but as River is the more violent of the two (kinda, cuz he HAS killed his own people as well. Twice.) Anyway, because River has guns in the scene after it says "beauty and the beast"
