  • yo rethink your vids are sick!! iv lent loads from your tutorials. but with this one it just does not seem to work for me for some reason iv been trying for a while now and no matter wut side i pull the string it allwaz gets more tangled . well i meen it works the first time or so then gets worse. ow yeah im running on hitman pro with modo string. if ya could help it would be crazy. PEACE!!

  • @spit3ly Yeah, each time you adjust your tension using this technique, you should only use it enough to make the tension neutral again. If you just keep tightening or loosening the string, then it will inevitably tighten or loosen the string TOO FAR after a while... and not even that long of a while. The method goes like this: Check tension. Use technique for a very short bit. Check tension again. Use technique again accordingly. Continue this until the string is neutral; it just falls limp.

  • you are the man, too bad i already bought another yo yo... haha i got the raider for looping tricks and then got a metal drifter for string tricks. but blehs i want something that sleeps like hella long haha

  • @jewmangi That Metal Drifter should actually do just fine for you in learning basic string tricks and stuff. I've personally never tried one, but just reading about it and looking at it, it sounds good. :)

  • i also have a question on yo yo selection. i jsut started since my friend bought me a auto return yo yo for fun, i hate that it just returns so easily off any touch. should i move on to a yomega raider or something?

  • @jewmangi A good beginner yoyo for learning a whole ton of tricks would be the YoYoFactory FAST 201. It has a great shape, size, and response for new players, and it has a great price too (around $10).

If you're willing to fork out a little extra cash ($20), the Velocity is also a great choice (though also a little bit more complicated to use).

Yomega is a fine brand, but I personally haven't found their products to be up to par with yoyos from other companies of similar (or lesser) prices.

  • thanks again for the tips and cool videos

  • @jewmangi Since you're using a brain (which is a responsive yoyo), I would recommend learning UFO (it's another yoyo trick in case you haven't heard of it), because that can also be used to adjust string tension. It's somewhat easier to learn when using a responsive yoyo. However, if all else fails, just take the string off of your finger and run your fingers down the string allowing the string to twist back to neutral tension.

  • i cant seem to loosen or tighten my yo yo (newb) i keep trying to slide it up and it smashes my hand or just slacks real hard

  • @donboyrjr That's so much dude, it really means a lot. It always blows my mind when someone gives such compliments.

...oh, and about smooth tricks, keep checking back, I've got one coming out soon that I think you'll like :)
