My two new PC build projects...Cosmos S case (project 1) but no case yet for the Lanparty PC (project 2). Sapphire HD4850, Intel Skulltrail Motherboard, Coolermaster Cosmos S case, plus few pics of the new Phenom IIX4 955 Black processor.

So I can do this and this will work on my cpu heat sink that I got with my cpu?

Sanding the CPU is called lapping the processor to make it smooth and improve the contact for cooling. I wouldnt do it unless you are not worried about voiding your CPU warranty. Its not supposed to be just shiny but very smooth and try to make it even all the way across. If I had a $1000 CPU then I might think again about lapping it. I have my CPU on water cooling and overclocking to 3.8.

I want my PC to run as smooth as possible at higher speeds to make sure it lasts longer.

dude if u are a true "Gaming" enthusiast you know to forgo dumping a ton of money into a known manufacturer and build your own machine from the ground up, first off you get the satisfaction of playing on what u made, you can truly say it is yours, its a hell of allot cheaper, and if something goes wrong you will probably know how to fix it
