That was awesome, a bit weird till I recalled the show 'quantum leap.. So what happens is: A time traveling-body-possessing guy 'fixes' events in history.. He snatched Torpey that day and stopped them getting fired and ultimately shot out of a cannon to their death by working out the 'mainframe quicker upload'idea. At the end when hes like 'WHERE DID MY DAY GO??' is because that was Torpey getting his brain back into his body. Phew!
