East WillyB's Pilot Season Episode 1: Maggie and Willie go at it for the future of the bar.
New episodes will be released every Wednesday for six consecutive weeks and will be available through www.eastwillyb.com and Youtube. The web series's pilot season launches online on April 13th at www.eastwillyb.com with 2 episodes for premiere week. The series not only features 6 episodics, but will also include the complimentary documentary series "The Real Bushwick," featuring the voices of current Bushwick residents as they respond to the impact of gentrification on their community. With the independent launch of the pilot season, the creators hope to generate enough interest in the series to enable the production of a 24-episode season, and bring their brand of entertaining and socially conscience new media to the web.
The cast of East WillyB features some of the freshest faces in film and television, including April Hernandez-Castillo (who debuted alongside Academy-Award winning actress Hillary Swank in FREEDOM WRITERS and was nominated for a SAG award for her ensemble work on DEXTER), Flaco Navaja (seen opposite Terrance Howard in Vito Montiel's FIGHTING and in IFC Film's FALLING AWAKE), Raul Castillo (star of IFC Film's COLD WEATHER and the Sundance Hit DON'T LET ME DROWN), Caridad "La Bruja" De La Luz (BAMBOOZLED, opposite Vera Farmiga in DOWN TO THE BONE), Danny Hoch (Solo Performance legend, seen on screen in BLACK HAWK DOWN, AMERICAN SPLENDOR), Julia Ahumada Grob (creator of the series, and named one of 25 emerging theater artists to watch by Kevin Spacey) along with many of NYC's talented young actors.
