  • Hello Andrew, Im looking for abit of help! Im thinking of climbing Crib Goch this late May, not done any scrambling before! Climbed Scafell Pike last May & i'm quite fit and young - applying for the Royal Marines. Was just wondering if the weather is good - is it ad\/isable for myself and two no\/ice climbers (all applying for the marines, young & fit) to climb it? Or best to stick to the Pyg Track or something similar? Thanks for the help, Andy :D

  • @andy1yido Hi Andy. If you're fit and healthy, have a good head for heights, and like a bit of adventure, then it should be fine for you. Just make sure you check the weather forecast, that you're properly equiped for the weather, take a map and compass (and know how to use them), and that you let someone know you're going. It's a great ridge, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

  • i suffer from vertigo i have climbed helvallyn across stridders edge keeping to the peak all the way across which was pretty nerve racking at parts, especially when i had to climb down a rock face to a ledge and below the ledge was a very scary drop,, my cousin told me if i was going to climb crib goch then it would be better for me to climb the peak of striders edge to get me use to it.

I realy want to climb crib goch but could do with some advice before i do to kind of proper myself for it,...

  • @lennypen1978 If you've done Striding Edge, then you should be OK, although Crib Goch is longer and a bit more exposed. Take a map and compass, suitable clothing and enough food and water. Make sure it's a good weather forecast, and let someone know you're going.

  • What a stunning piece of film - how the HELL did you keep the guy in front centre shot, while doing this difficult ridge walk? This shows people what it's REALLY like. I did this walk about 7 years ago.

  • @lesjsin Thanks - you're very kind.

  • Brilliant! Full credit to the guy filming too!

Can't be easy to scramble and climb up there whilst filming.
