Good question. A good answer is "Learning how to Learn". Dogs, like people, need practice at learning. Teaching tricks is a great way to Proof your communication and motivation skills. I especially love to teach tricks to pups. It builds focus and desire to communicate with people. A great character trait for any dog to learn.
