Scott Barrett argues that the Stern Review overly simplifies climate change, but nonetheless importantly draws attention to the ethical implications thereof. He discusses the significance of adaptation and development assistance for less developed countries, who are more vulnerable to the hazardous effects of climate change. Following him is Jeffrey Sachs, who contends that the Stern Review is simply a call to action for individuals to change the core of the world's economy; debates arise, however, with respect to the time scale of such an endeavor and how to attend to the particularities of each greenhouse gas.
