This scene takes place at the Mirror Chamber and is a flashback story, told by the Sages who suggest Ganondorf himself is actually the main antagonist - and responsible for everything that has happened! Man, these sages were extraordinarily useless. "Go to these various places and fix our mirror... Save the world... Kill this guy who killed our buddy... Oooooohhh..."

To give them credit, they did capture Ganondorf, but then they totally FUB'd by inflicting the man on the poor twilight realm. Dicks.

@CS2sharingan I dont think Link and Zelda in TP is brother and sisters... It is just a bit to stupid... I mean... Link comes to save a PRINCESS wich he NEVER KNEW is ok... But saving a SISTER WICH HE NEVER KNEW sounds a bit stupid... Inculding that Link is a town outsider and Zelda is a princess. Or rather the leader of whole Hyrule

–When does Twilight Princess take place?

Aonuma: In the world of Ocarina of Time, a hundred and something years later.

He goes on to explain that it takes place in the part of the split timeline where Link went back in time and warned Zelda about Ganondorf, stopping his plans and leading to this (yeah, it's confusing to newcomers). So this particular scene takes place shortly after OoT in that timeline
