Graham-Radford-Charlie George-Radford-Charlie George. What a strike and as usual Charlie needed very little lift in his strike leg. Best striker of a ball I've seen. I also agree with Charlie when he say's Raddy was Man Of The Match.

i have an autograph of charlie george!

This goal for me ranks among the top 10 of the best goals i've seen. Charlie George if I see you down my local I'm buying you a pint on the strength of this goal. There were very few goalies that were of Ray Clemence's quality and to beat him from the outside of the box took some doing.

anyone know what the red card was for?

@TruthThanks it was Liverpool

who was the opposition team btw?

Love it. Classic. Come on, you Gunners, etc., but the first thing I always notice about the goal is that at 0:07 George has a wide open, easy pass with the outside of his right foot to the open man in the middle(who is that, Ray Kennedy?).
Two touches from Kennedy and he would have one of the easiest goals in the history of any cup final anywhere, as opposed to this wonder shot where George has the ball JUST A LITTLE too close to his body for comfort.
Just nit-picking with history, is all.

I was stood in the LFC fans end (players entrance) right in line with both Arsenal goals. I've always believed two things
1 . Tommy Smith og. for Arsenals equaliser
2. Charlie George's shot deflected off Larry Lloyd.
Anybody agree?

George, Kennedy, Radford, McLintock, Wilson, all definitely could have played today, as could some of those Seventies Liverpool stars.
'79 FA Cup Final won, '80 FA Cup and Cup Winners' Cup Finals lost. George and Kennedy were both still under 30. Add them to Brady, Stapleton, Sunderland, Rix, Talbot... It could have been something special.
Surely one of the best Cup Final goals ever by an exceptionally talented young man who should have played for his country many more times.
From a Spurs fan!

Of course Charlie loves the Arsenal, you don't stop supporting your team even if you want to leave, unless you're Cashley Cunt.
He was obviously pissed off with being told to keep his creativity in line, which is undertandable. Frank McLintock didn't think much of Bertie Mee either apparently. Of course I can only go on what I've read.
70s mavericks ruled, shame I'm too young to have seen them :) if only there were players like that around today
