  • oh i gotcha. im doing basically the same thing im trading one of my 450s for a 250 two stroke cuz they are more fun and that 450 has seen better days!

  • it wasn't all fuel prices the truck was showing some wear and tear it was on its 3rd engine and first tranny, also all the new england winters started taking their toll on the body and frame. i was also looking for a more fun car with performance

  • damn where i live diesel is cheaper than gas. =)

  • idk i sold my suburban last spring after fuel prices went nuts. now im rockin out a nissan 240sx

  • i have seen some one say black is partially burnt fuel and i think that makes sense cuz turning up the pump makes black, and its pushing more fuel through than what it can burn. and white is unburnt, blue is oil burning cuz thats what color 2 stroke motorcycles blow, and a little gray is just a cold morning start. im not saying im right but its what makes sense to me.

  • black is unburnt fuel , blue is burning oil , gray is also unburnt fuel. if your smoking blue then your burning oil. i also own a 6.5td hence my screen name

  • sorry man but you r wrong. Black smoke is good. Normaly when your diesel is under a load the 6.5 turbo or any diesel engine for that mater will blow out black smoke. the grayish sumetimes blueish looking smoke is raw diesel being pushed through the engen when the cilinder doesn't fire. when yuor truck is blowing out the greyish smoke the easy way to tell between oil and unburnt fuel is to smell it. if it smells like diesel fuel than that is what it is. i oun a 6.5 turbo and have rebulit it

  • im a die hard chevy fan but i do have to say those engines suck hardcore... shoulda built direct injection right from the beginning

  • Ahh... Gotta love the IDI cold start ups... Damn incomplete combustion in the morning lol.

  • the old Chevy diesels suck, even though Im a Chevy hater, the new diesels are better.
