  • now that some time has passed...I would be willing to digitize and archive on here , any footage that folks may have of acts that played...strictly fanbased and non commercial ..... let me know ..

  • It held more than you think. 1800 people if a show was on the small stage. If the whole was opened for shows on the large stage it held 5000 people. I worked there for 3 years.

  • wow...yeah, I never attended a show where they opened the divider. Cool to hear . Do you recall any particular acts that made full use of the venue?

  • Metallica, Eddie Money, The Charlie Watts Orchastra,

Wendy O Williams and the Plasmatics, Striper, about a 3rd of the shows were on the large stage. If you remember the bacony that was the devider, we just removed the iron fencing

under the balcony and the full building was in use.

  • Ahhh..I heard about the Wendy O show with the car onstage.....crazy 80s !

  • Some things are best captured in memory .

  • Last time I was there I saw Nuclear Assault, Testament, and SLAYER!!! ThrashBash 87' I think it was......

  • Oct. 30, 1983. Huey Lewis and the News. It was Chris's (lead guitar) b'day. They were climbing the charts and sounded awesome that night. My girlfriend was visiting from Wisconsin. We had a blast! (We've been married 26 yrs. :) ). Saw The Clash there, too. It was packed. So I bought a rack of tallboys and stood on them so I could see over the crowd. What a night! I.ve forgotten more good times there than I can remember! RIP Agora!

  • I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn there twice ( Oct 84 & Aug 85) .Two of the best shows I have ever seen. Also saw Max Creek, Steppenwolf,The Guess Who,The Wailers,Joined Forces& Physical Graffiti. Wish I saw the Metallica triple bill,or Charlie Watts.

  • Makes me sad to see that when I think of all the amazing bands and the fun I had there...

  • @freebird1969 Slayer.......only time I saw the big stage.....

  • Thanks man,,things go by very fast....my entire childhood was there.....

  • I grew up just a half hour walk from there. What memories! Some of the best times of my life. We would have to purchase tickets though Strawberries Records. The whole ritual of waiting and hanging with the fans and bands. They had two stages: a small stage and a big stage. Some shows they would have acts playing both stages. I was a product of the 80's. Some of the artists included: Cindy Lauper, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Robin Trower, Pat Travers and the list goes on. Thanks!!!

  • I miss this place. I saw X and the Del Fuegos in 1985. Great Show!!

  • Wow does this bring back memories.

I used to work there as a stage hand.

I did a bunch of shows there when I worked for Cryer.

I'll never forget seeing Judas Priest there on July4 th, 1979.

    Cryer opened the show.

I think it was called Stage West back then.

  • Also I believe we saw the "Boomtown Rats " here...Bob Geldof, the lead singer, and the rest of the band came out and shot the sh** with us before the show....years later, I see him organizing "Live Aid"....
