August 14, 2010. Today is the re-enactment of the legendary lip lock, made by a Sailor to a Nurse at Times Square on August 14, 1945 - the date when Japan declared its surrender to US, the end of World War II. From then on, this was symbolized by a sculpture, "Unconditional Surrender," the kissing Sailor and Nurse in 1945.
