Some countries already have an official froyo update,
so you just need to update your device throught Samsung kies
if that doesn't work you can flash your device using odin.

if you want to have 2.3.4 than you need this thread:

it looks difficult but if you read it 3 times you will know it, and than if you have some

@Danny7locc no your phone becomes rooted after you upgrade it to 2.3.7 (trough cynogen mod )

no desgracien sus telefonos galaxy 550 el android 2.3.7 no funciona bien en ellos los cuelga a cada rato no conece las proporciones de la pantalla para los juegos y si lo instalan no se puden devolver a sus verciones anteriores porque les aprece un triangulo amarillo con un simbolo de exclamacion si sabran que desgraciaron sus telefonos a mi me paso este es mi correo yo pude solucionarlo
