把時間驅散,把空間稀釋;

Concepts for creation
How to view a lucid memory?
Dissipate time, diffuse space and,
Wait...
For light brought in by an incidental breeze,
It seems to whisper: " Reality is a mere dream of Psyche"
Descriptions of work
Upon entering the installation, ones sees a flickering lights beam being projected from above (from a projector). Looking above to the light, through the smoke permeating the space, one makes outs fluttering silhouettes of butterflies. On the floor, amidst the dancing shadows are shimmering specks of gold.
In the corner of the space is a black box (65 cm x 65 cm x 80 cm), the surface of which is a mirror with light emanating from the center. Inching closer, one sees a butterfly resting on the surface, as if it is quietly imbibing nectar, its thin wings are slowly flapping. When one attempts to touch it, the butterfly abruptly disappears. Upon retracting the hand, the butterfly appears again.
Encased in the farthest wall from the entrance is a golden frame, within in which is a Chinese calligraphy piece (scroll). The calligraphy tells the story of Chuang-tzi, an ancient Taoist philosopher, who dreams of becoming a butterfly and awakens questioning if he really is a butterfly. When the viewer closes in to read the text, the scroll disappears and one sees a three-dimensional golden rose, which is soon surrounded by butterflies weaving through the rose and dispersing a golden dust.
One comes away from this installation of objects and its representations with the mystifying and delightful sensation that "real" objects can't be captured: it disappear upon touching, or it transforms into an unexpected image upon closer inspection.
Emerging from the installation, one finds specks of golden powder on himself. When the viewer was looking up, the dancing butterfly shadows have scattered a small amount of golden dust that clings to one like the memory of this experience.
