@DDDstereo yes there is a suitable replcement: MC50 which is from the professional series and is identical to the CX550 - adding some features like manual controls

@DDDstereo well, as far as you dont need video out at the same time as LANC control you might use one of the new models like the CX560 or CX700 - the problem is that Sony introduced a bug in ALL camcorders released 2011: you cant get LANC and video out at the same time - this is a bub which was confirmed by Sony
