A person who works on a property is either called a Jackaroo (young male) or Jillaroo (young female), or station hands. A drover is a person who drive live stock from one place to another on a contract basis. But these days it
s all done by road transport.

Nice reply! I AM a cowboy in the Rocky Mountains and have the utmost respect for your cattlemen and horses. Consequently, due to our pride in our tradition and respect and admiration for yours, I never refer to a cattle worker in Australia as a cowboy. I simply use "cattleman." I like the jackaroo though! That's new to me. Yeah, everyone is moving cattle by vehicle as droving makes the cattle lose weight and weight loss before sale is bad, especially since they will lose weight after sale.

I loved him in this movie. It's the first one I've seen where he actually got to keep his real accent. I love it.
