Sounds exotic.

It is a delightful accent, m'dear. I could listen to it for an hour. In fact I have been, watching the Rugger !!

It appears that Kitty was not really thinking about it that much at all. Seemed to be looking for your affection, not a feathery snack.
Can you export that spring to Canada? We're just going into fall.

how are you growing the strawberries?
I tried years ago and they failed.
I've always heard they need cool roots to produce well and mine over heated.
You've got them rooted in a big pot and with a plastic bag covering the soil.
Retaining moisture should help keep the temps down, correct?
Are you keeping them IN the tub or planning the put them in the ground?
Beautiful garden, and a lovely accent!

@davematherly The stawberries will stay in those tubs. Planting them in tubs or raised beds like commercial growers do, allows better drainage. They dont like soggy ground. Laying polythene keeps the fruit clean & weeds away. When you plant them make sure you dont bury the crown under the soil ... you just want to plant it so that the roots are covered. I always nip off the first flowers that come on in the early spring ... they dont come to much... better to let the plant grow more. cont...

@mala265 Strawberries LOVE full sun ... you dont want to let them get too dry ...but you dont want to overwater them either ... if you water them too much you get pretty tastless strawberries.... so keep the soil moist while the fruit is forming /growing ... but slow it down once they start to ripen.
Hope Ive helped a bit ...lol ( used to grow them for export ) hope you have better luck next season :))
Thanks :)) ( on the accent)
