Rescue animals are not damaged goods. They are homeless and need our help.

The context in which we interact with these animals implies a contract to look after them. We have brought them into our community, and we are obliged to feed them, to care for them if they are injured, and so forth. We also accept the responsibility for controlling their populations. Some of these responsibilities rest on us because of unfortunate choices of actions of our predecessors and ancestors. The morally relevant fact is not usually the content of experience of an individual creature but the context of our interactions with it. The more we meddle in the daily lives of wild animals, the more we accept moral responsibility for the consequences of our actions in their individual lives.

Wonderful video. I just rescued a Chihuahua yesterday! She sleep so close to me last night that I don't think a flea could have gotten between us! It was/is/will be wonderful!
