A low fluence 70 MeV proton beam extracted from the ASTRID synchrotron in Aarhus produces a clear signal in a neutron bubble detector. The beam enters the detector from the right side. Recorded on December 2005.
See http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.nimb.2006.05.020 for results.
@U235hexafluoridedude
thanks. However the proton fluence was still very low, about 10 million protons per spill or so. The range of 70 MeV protons is a few cm, so you can clearly see where the protons stop. BTW, the synchrotron was also "home made" by the University. I was the last to use their proton beam back in 2005. Since then they were only doing electrons for synchrotron light production. :-/

Good lord, that's beautiful, sure does a hell of alot more than my 70KeV D-D source.
