I tried this but my "clay" disintegrated. was my fire too hot? or did I not have real clay?

Awesome pottery! How long have you been practicing Earth skills? I'm researching aboriginal clay pottery, and everyone I know seems to believe that allowing flame to touch your clay pot while cooking will result in the pot breaking. That hasn't been my experience. Any thoughts on that?

this was my first clay pots, i cook with my pots over/ in the fire, a few times, and they did not break,
