i am constantly amazed when people expect artists to be stagnate. Mellencamp has grown as a storyteller, if you listen to his songs acoustically they are all folk songs ~ he is a treasure in these uncertain times...he gives us hope and entertains at the same time. To those looking for johnny cougar, he never really existed.

Great Album! See him twice a week in B-Town and always happy and upbeat, some people can't decipher art well (read below)

Too bad the lil bastard forgot that he's also supposed to entertain. He has let his political agaenda take over his music. Come on John lets have some fun again. why don't you and springsteen go to summer camp together and try to remember that life ain't always bleak and so damn depressing. with what he has , great wife(finally 3rd times a charm, great kids, big house on the lake, and money for all the familys securtity) friggin try to smile and have some fun.

Good, intelligent songs ARE "entertaining"

if you check out their older song they all way did song like that but are better at it now that what song written is all about
