  • when i plug my iphone 3g into the comp with quickpwn running and without itunes running the quickpwn does not read that there is a iphone plugged in. i have all the software requirements. is there anyhing i have to do?

  • This tutorial is not for Quickpwn. It is for Pwnage Tool.

  • does this work with the aluminum macbooks?

  • Yes, it should work with an aluminum/unibody MacBook and OS X 10.5.7.

  • ok so now ive done what you've said and changed the usb ports. restored the iphone to all normal settings. reran the pwnage tool. entered dfu mode then itunes opens and gives me this warning.

An ipod has been detected but cant be identified properly.

    An error has occured (2001)

    thanks

  • 2 Things To Try:

    1. Before you start the jailbreaking process (with official Apple firmware installed), uncheck the box that says open iTunes when connected.

    2. Follow all the directions from Pwnage Tool.

When finished it will tell you to quit Pwnage Tool.

After you quit, iTunes will see your iPhone is in DFU restore mode. Press OK when you get Error 2001, then unplug the USB from you iPhone and plug it back in.

Hold down the Option key and hit the restore button, select your custom firmware.
