This is part 4 of 7. :P
This was meant to be just a little blurb about Chris Roberts but turned into a short segment so I'll just extend the series out a bit. Thanks again for all the advice and suggestions!

Yeah and I realize I said that Andie McDowell did Tolwyn's voice. D'oh! Totally meant Malcolm McDowell but apparently I'm a big idiot. :) I changed the originals but haven't changed the youtube video yet. :P

  • Wheres' part 5 ,6,7

  • Fantastic watch rvcontre78 - really enjoyed all four parts, a great tribute to a wonderful game series. Hopefully there'll be a part 5. Great choice of music as well.

I have very fond memories of Wing Commander, was one of the first games I ever played along with Elite and Ultima V.

Origin were a class apart from every other game developer of the day. Ultima and Wing Commander still remain my two favourite game series to this day.

Ah the nostalgia, better days... ;-)

  • Did you say Andie MacDowell in 2:13? LOL! Malcom MacDowell played Tolwyn in WC3 and WC4, while Andie MacDowell is an actress, not related to him.

  • It's definitely something I've been thinking of. I'm trying to make it work with some people though. Thanks for the continued interest! :)

  • upload them somewhere else and unly upload a teaser here at youtube without licensed music and link to full version in the video description and in the teaser itself :)

  • I definitely agree. But now that they're getting muted because I use licensed music it seems hardly worth the effort. :P

  • 5 months were long enough? :)

  • Good point on X-Wing. That was one of my favorite PC games growing up (though I was a bit too young to get very far when my dad first bought it), and it's still one of my all-time favorite video games.

I don't think the rendered bit maps would have worked as well for the craft models X-Wing as the 3D polygons did (even with simple shading rather than texture mapping)

The music is a big part of both these games. (lost in the 1998 CD) I also liked the cockpit damage modeling of X-Wing.
