This is the trailer to the English version of the Danish movie Drømmen (The Dream).

Thirteen year-old Frits just cant seem to behave properly enough in school and the headmaster makes him pay. Though corporal punishment has been officially banned, the headmaster decides, in Fritss case, to make an exception. But its summer 1969 and with the familys new TV set, Frits can see that in America, where people protest freely, one can do something about tyranny. After the headmaster brutally steps over the line again, Frits decides that its time to fight back.

Where can I get this on DVD or get a poster of it because I am in love with this film so much.

Well the DVD is only available as Region 2 (Europe), your channel says that you live in Australia, where you use Region 4. I can send you links but you wont be available to play it if your DVD player can't play Region 2...

And I couldn't find a poster...

But yeah it's a great film!!

@Ballinalower This is a movie made about the time in 1969, these kinds of teachers are nowhere to be found anymore since it is against law to ever hurt a child like that both in school and at home. Teachers are not like that at all in this time and age, even Danish people were shocked when they first saw this at the movie theaters.

Just thought I would clear that up, we can't have people going around thinking something untrue about the Danes :)

@KarinaBrunLarsen Corporal punishment is legal in the U.S. or at least 21 states. Granted there are "GUIDELINES and POLICIES" but the bottom line fact is that it is still legal to "PADDLE" a child with a wooden paddle in the US. I am sorry but I do not agree with this practice and am fighting to have it banned. I do believe in spankings by a parent (last resort) but not with a wooden paddle and not by a "STATE EMPLOYEE"- the U.S. gives our inmates more rights than we give our children..........
