August 26, 2011 HURRICANE IRENE on the coast of Jekyll Island, GA. The eye had already moved north and she was atleast 250 miles out when she came through. Usually 50 to 60 yds of sandbar at this location. We were standing over the rocks on the boardwalk 10 ft up & getting wet!

  • Whoa

  • @837wolves > Yes Whoa was used a few times - especially as those waves hit the staircase and shook the boardwalk or when the sprayed actually came up and showed us!

  • Has it passed yet? We're in the Berkshires waiting...glad you're safe to video another day!

  • @jess50yt > this was taken late Friday afternoon and she had passed earlier in the day - just shows you how big she is.

  • Something so beautiful with such destructive powers...great footage!

  • @jess50yt > Thanks! We are very lucky once again!

  • What part of the island is this shot at? Is it near the Hampton Inn and Suites? Thanks
