Muslim Aid - Winter Campaign 2011/12. Sleeping Bag Donation to the Salvation Army Hopetown

On 20th January 2012, Muslim Aid donated sleeping bags to the Salvation Army Hopetown Lifehouse homeless support shelter for women as part of the 2011/12 Winter Campaign.
Hopetown provides accommodation for 99 women with support needs, including substance use and mental health issues. There are an additional 19 spaces in bedsits that are used as move-on from the hostel. The programme at a Lifehouse offers more than a bed, it gets people their life back. Every Lifehouse offers purpose and relatioships in everything they do. Every resident gets a key worker who will help them in the process of preparing and leading them to independent or minimal supported housing, and will also help residents find something they love doing, finding friends and having fun.
This winter, Muslim Aid has partnerd with Age UK and Shelter to help spread the warmth by supplying the elderly and people without a home with essential items to help see them through the biting winter.
