@purealba01 Even frozen and packaged food can still be of high quality. And I'm not saying that there are no bad apples that more than willingly serve tourists crap, but I found most Italians that I met to be rather discriminating about what they eat. I can't see anyone of them being willing to eat at a restaurant like Olive Garden. Also I found that especially family run restaurants take pride in their work.

@peri2502 That's a common misconception.. I lived in Italy for some time, and all of my friends that worked in restaurants said that most, if not all, of the food they served was packaged, frozen food that was heated to order...lol, unbeknownst to the tourists who thought they were getting "top notch" food.. They all worked in pretty high end restaurants in Rome and Naples mind you..
