The Hear and Say Centre is one of the leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centres in the world, teaching children who are deaf or hearing impaired to listen and speak since 1992.

The Centre aims for its children to achieve speech and language in the normal range for their age by six years of age giving them the opportunity for a mainstream education, employment of choice and social integration with the hearing world.

The Centre is a charity based in Brisbane with regional centres on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Dalby with an Outreach program for rural and remote children. It is a family based program recognizing the parent as the natural language teacher of the child. http://www.hearandsaycentre.com.au/

The Hear and Say WorldWide message is that children who are deaf can now listen and speak with new hearing technology (cochlear implants and digital hearing aids) and Auditory-Verbal education.

Hear and Say WorldWide was officially launced in Brisbane by Dr Vinton G Cerf, Founder of the Internet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL2r8FQvYBg

Hear and Say WorldWide is a world first global Hearing Health-Care Worker Education Program developed by the Hear and Say Centre in Queensland, Australia, that will establish multidisciplinary healthcare teams to prevent, identify and treat hearing loss in babies and young children in selected international destinations. It will involve the global activation of philanthropic, government, institutional and corporate forces to achieve these aims.

  • Ah... I remember doing the sound recording for this. I think it must have been 7 years ago at least. Would love to see them again.

  • Hey, Yoo-hoo, are you there? The background music makes it twice as hard for hard of hearing people to understand what the kids are saying. You might be expected to know that, but clearly, you don't.

  • 5 stars. Yes, I know I'm biased ;-)
