Not all atheists want to convince theists through argument - some just enjoy the sport of laughing at hem.
Some have spent *years* presenting the facts and evidence against superstition and get NOWHERE with it - and relieve the frustration through mockery.
Constant frustration is very damaging to the psyche - striking out can be very cathartic and good for the mental health of the mocker! 8-)
And remember - Atheists are not all saints of reason - we are just ordinary human beings...

Excellent take on the subject. Remembering that mockery many times starts with mocking the IDEAS and not the person is important. TLD's videos are completely justified to me as he has tried many times to get through to the people he ends up pwning (from what I can tell). Plus, TLD's vids are just so damn funny! Cheers!

My personal opinion? The only theists that deserve mockery are those that mock others for their religious beliefs or lack thereof. I think the same of atheists who mock ALL theists regardless of whether or not said theists have made fools of themselves. I have plenty of theist friends, and I'd never mock them; likewise, they'd never mock me for my atheistic beliefs.
