L. Ron Hubbard was quoted as saying, "The way you get rich is by starting your own religion." This guy was a crappy Science-Fiction writer and he basically started this "religion/cult" from just his writings, specifically Dianetics. Just a whack job who wrote a book, and look what it's turned into. A multi-million dollar tax-exempt kingdom, where people have been enslaved, brainwashed and bankrupt and killed. This is a terrible cult which should be shut down by the FBI.

You shouldn't criticize him for coming out and talking about his experiences. Many of the cult's victims stay silent because they're afraid of receiving criticisms just like yours.

Even though he was a master con artist, Hubbard would not have forced a "public" Sci to undergo training at Flag in Spanish if that person did not speak the language!* Just more evidence that the people running Sci DO NOT know how to run the scam AT ALL.

* The chiropractor's wife went to Flag for Sci training and they didn't have enough English-speaking auditors(!).

@emprise You bet. As a teen I was put through the paces with these con artists. Initially what the do is break you down and teach you how to communicate. That's OK, communication is good but then they proceed to tell you what to communicate (get more people to come, while we drain your bank account) Well as old L. Ron said when he was still a science fiction writer "If you want to make money start a religion". My advise stay a long way from Scientology.

This is a great interview and very educational for anyone thinking about trying it. DO NOT listen to ANYONE who is representing Scientology. It's a Brainwash from the get go! It sounds good so the first step and the "Hook" is a person's "Willingness".  Scientology IS an empty promise!

It's a scam, a perfect con. It's perfect because even tho your being conned, it's still ultimately your decision to move forward. You become a prisoner of yourself and your paying for it!!
