Relaxation Music. Relax with this wonderful music for piano and cello.

When Susanne Hahn sent me this wonderful composition MONALISA 8 to interpret visually, I found it conjured up various emotions within me. I felt a great sense of calm listening to the work and I also had a feeling of lost love. I have therefore created two videos with this piece of music. For both I found myself attracted to the sea.

In this video I have represented the absolute calm that the music evokes by using a very still and reflective sea. On a beautiful November morning, I stood in silence by the waters edge, my only companions were a few birds in the distance and my ever faithful wee dog by my side, as my camera drank in the wonderful scene before it.

While in the second video I have interpreted my sense of lost love within the work by combining it with a more turbulent sea. I have filmed a scene looking out to sea over the Skellig rocks, once inhabited by monks in early Christian times. In the foreground mirroring the Skelligs are jagged rocks protruding out of the waves. The often small communities along the Irish coast have a long tradition with the sea, many loved ones headed out to sea in search of food and a source of income, many never to return.

Every time I see a rough sea I think of all those that have lost their lives at sea and their loved ones left behind.

This video was filmed on a secluded beach on the county Kerry coast, Ireland.

The equipment I use for creating my videos is a Canon 5d Mark2 camera with a EF 16-35mm 2.8 L II USM Lens, a EF 70-200mm 2.8 L IS USM Lens and a EF 24-70mm L USM Lens set on a Manfrotto Tripod. I record onto a SanDisk Extreme Pro 32gb Flashcard and all of this is stored in a Lowepro Flipside 400AW. I then edit on a MacBook Pro with several iomega 1tb hard drives.
