Society says they want ex-offenders to rehabilitate themselves so that they can become productive members of society but how is that suppose to happen when you can't get a job to become a productive member of society. I have a master's degree in social work and I cannot find a job either because of my record. If you're honest on a job application you won't get the job. If you are dishonest, you won't get the job. How is a person suppose to better themselves? Society is so judgmental.

Move to another state with more tolerant people and seal your record. I heard you can get a strait up pardon for good behavior in California.

There was once a man named Joe, whom had been convicted of a felony. He was turned down for many jobs, until one day he received a call from a company. They wanted to hire him for a position in corporate legislation. To his surprise, there background check had failed to reveal his conviction. One day, after a number of months working there, and just before an important topic of legislation, another member approached him, privately.
Be careful.

This is bullshit. Temporary companies have very few jobs even thought they post they have several. They also ask if you have EVER had a felony. They have so many people applying they can afford to eliminate anyone they want. There are just not many good paying jobs unless you have a lot of experience. How do you get experience if you can't get a job?

The key to working with temp agencies is to avoid corporate agencies that often have more strict hiring practices that are set by the parent company. A better choice may be smaller independent agencies that have more latitude in regard to who they hire.
