Impression of the Ir. D.F. Woudagemaal in Tacozijl, The Netherlands. Build between 1914-1918 it's the biggest still operating steam-powered water pump in the world. This is the station working at full power on January 8, 2012. Three boilers providing steam to four double-expansion steam engines which in turn drive two centrifugal pumps each. With eight pumps in total it is capable of pumping out 6000 cubic meters a minute. The pumping station is a UNESCO world heritage since 1998.
