Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - boss fight: Meta Ridley

BOSS FIGHT #2: Meta Ridley
Difficulty: Normal

Strategy:
The fight begins with you falling down a very long tunnel after Ridley, with a timer at the bottom of the screen. It's very important that you kill Ridley before this timer runs out, or else you will die.

Begin by charging up your blaster, and trying to shoot directly down the center of the tunnel. If your aim is accurate, you will hit him in the head, interrupting his attack and dealing a decent amount of damage. Dodge his fire attack by moving in a circular motion along the walls of the tunnel. Continue this until the next phase of the fight.

The next phase is a face-to-face encounter with Ridley. He will charge up an attack from either his beak or his claw. Shoot at whichever part he is charging up an attack from, and it will interrupt the attack. Continue this until the next phase of the fight.

Phase 3 consists of you falling down with Ridley chasing after you from above. You can shoot at, or avoid, the fireballs that he shoots at you. Keep shooting him in the head until he is defeated.

The fight will go back and forth between these phases until you've killed Ridley. After you've defeated him, Rundas will come to your rescue.

Definitely one of the best boss fights in gaming history, in my opinion anyways. The music, the fight taking place as you fall down a massive hole. The entire thing is just awesome.

I think the person who designed this tunnel also designed the halyways on the great fox. XD

This was my favorite battle in the game, frankly. Then again, since when has the fight with Ridley NOT been one of the most memorable fights in a Metroid game?

@IanROX22 no, when an object falls for a long time, depending on the air resistance, it will reach a maximum speed called terminal velocity. once they reach that speed they cant go any faster. and btw no objects terminal velocity could destroy it.
