Pond size is a little less than an acre, probably more like 3/4 acre. Big enough. Also just to clarify, total expense for the pond, gunite, dirt work, tree removal, beach sand etc. was about $18K. Total depth is 14 feet, total gunite area is about 45'X45', total sandy beach area is about 45'X20'. UPDATE 8/11/11 we are experiencing a HUGE drought in Texas and many local ponds are completely dry, mine is down about 3 feet. pays to hire a guy who knows how to properly line the bottom with clay.

Holy crap...the ppl charged you $5k for that small gunite patch? Dude you should have asked for a kiss too for what they did to you.

there is as much gunite in that section as there is in a large swimming pool. It took 3 truck loads of gunite and 400 feet of hose to reach the pond, and 6 workers 6 hours to complete. They also laid steel mesh down for reinforcement and they made a 8 inch high embankment at the front of the gunite to help keep the dirt from the hill from sliding into the gunite area....which did not help, there is 2 feet of silk on the gunite from the last heavy rain. All in all....still worth the money.

How much from beginning to end did the pond cost with all small things included?
HsiaLinBoy 3 years ago
$18,000 for the digging and dirt work/land clearing. $5,000 for the gunite section, and an additional $1,200 to level out the backyard with all the dirt that was removed.

CORRECTION --- That should have been $50K swimming pool, not $50 in my previous comment!
