The Cheshire Group of Endurance GB run the Wirral Ride from Thurstaton Country Park. This video captures some of the riders on the beach section of the course on Sunday 22nd April 2007. @gabbybella123 @gabbybella123 It depends - at the beginning you might start with pleasure rides which can be anything from 20-25km (approx. 12-16 miles) up to 40km (25 miles). The aim is to complete the distance you enter between 8kms/hr (5mph) minimum speed and 12km/h (8mph) maximum speed. That may sound a tall order but if you are used to going out for a hack for 3 or 4 hours which includes a fair bit of trotting then you are pretty nearly there. Chris

@BabaaNii It's a great way of getting out on your horse. Unless you get to the top it's "non-competitive" - just you and your horse having to complete your chosen distance between minimum and maximum times - so everyone is very friendly and there's plenty of helpful advice for the less experienced.
