Her mother told the story to me in 1994 or so.
I had been scouting locations for a film 'The Big Store', written and directed by John Connor (Cherry Hill NJ) A story about the TELEVISION invasion after WW2. (almost like the 'web-facebook' invasion! Internet neutrality?) The rowhouse neighborhood that John grew up in was CHANGED FOREVER by the TV. Play, Work, Conversation. Family. All changed.
Finding a 'location' for a film can be a long project. Lots of calls, peoples & visits! I dont remember what the woman's name was. I made ONE casual comment about 'miracles happen' and this lady said "I KNOW ABOUT THAT. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HEAR A WILD STORY?" Sure, says I. Her daughter is 20 or so years old. The cute 'downs syndrome girl' in a close 'rowhouse neighborhood'. "Everybody" in this neighborhood knew and loved this girl for TWO DECADES. The girl came down with a horrible 'joint disease' 'phlebitis'??? ..and a huge 'endocrine system disorder' all at once. Her baby was DYING IN THE HOSPITAL. Some folks from the neighborhood came to the mom and said "We feel God wants us to pray for your daughter and ask for total healing, is that okay? May we go to her room and pray, then go to the hospital?" "Sure" ..the mom was open to anything. "short story" ....THE GIRL IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY HEALED. ..THE DOCTORS ARE FREAKED. (she still has the downs syndrome.. downs syndrome? i found THAT goes away TOO in some situations. worth 'searching' check Megashift by James Rutz.) THE DOCTORS TRY TO KEEP HER IN THE HOSPITAL DOING TESTS.. THE PRAYER FOLKS SAY.. "look God did something here. Why dont you just accept it and let this innocent girl GO HOME!! " (the mommy thought their attitude towards the doctors was very cool!)

The NASTIEST for the momma-lady was HER NEIGHBORHOOD WAS IN AN UPROAR ABOUT THIS GIRL BEING HEALED BY THESE "JESUS PRAYER PEOPLES"
BUT... no TV news .. no Newspaper ..NOBODY in philadelphia pennsylvania wanted to report this event! period.
