Safari Lewa Ep 9.- Rhino Ears. Being at the half way mark in the Safari was sad, but getting to see a procedure on a rhino done by the amazing wildlife team at Lewa was a thrill. Watch all the action on this episode of SAFARI LEWA!

  • so I kind of really really really LOVE rhinos!! They are soo beautiful!!

And I'm just wondering.. and I know this is completely impossible unless it's under very good circumstances... but could a human RIDE a rhinoceros? I mean, it's a big animal and I'm wondering if they could take the weight of a human...

  • @rhinolovingpianist77 . They could easily take the weight, but I don't know what circumstance you would see or want a human to ride a rhino? I would guess some dumb circus act, and seeing that one had a polar bear on ice skates, i am sure man can force any animal to do just about anything.

  • is that a steppe eagle at 0:12? Great vid btw

  • @105km

Thanks for the comment..i think it is a Steppe. We were seeing brown snake eagles and Steppe's and some times the fish eagles, so many birds!

  • i couldn't help feeling sorry for the poor rhino not knowing whats going on and stuff,

and his buddy was trying to protect him.

you were just tagging him though, but he must have been scared.

  • @iAMcirca . The whole process took 30 minutes and now for the staff to be able to i.d. the rhino is so important. His buddies stook around and they all left as a good group. It is interesting how a towel on their eyes can help calm them down so much.

  • @rhinolovingpianist77 yes because its the same concept.. it doesn't make it right..

  • @JerkFerDays it's only for my fantasy novel... and honestly, how would it be torture for them to carry a person around? they're at least 1000 pounds while a human is around the 100-200 range. I understand that the whole "training/taming" would be stressful, but how do you think people managed to tame elephants for the circus? or camels for rides at the zoo? it's the same concept really...

  • @rhinolovingpianist77 if you love rhinos.. why on earth would you want to torture one with having to carry somebody around...not that its hard for it. but it would be a bother. and put great stress on the animal. especially having to tame one. >.<

  • @briczar22 Sweeeeet! well the only circumstance I can think of right now (besides the circus) is that I'm writing a fantasy/ adventure novel. The main character has a pet rhinoceros and she rides him everywhere. :) haha it's silly, but I was wondering if it's logical. On the other hand, it is a fanstasy novel :D

  • Beautiful nature video! Tank you very much, voor uploaden!

  • Why Did they do that for again?
